Robert Thalheim’s film Am Ende kommen Touristen [And Along Come Tourists] explores affective legacies of guilt in relationship to German memory of the Holocaust. Written and directed by Thalheim, who did civilian service (Zivildienst) at the International Youth Meeting Center in Auschwitz, the fictional And Along Come Tourists explores the relationship that evolves between a Holocaust survivor and a young German doing civilian service at the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz.
